Quality care in mental health & learning disabilities

Franklin Homes

Bethany House

Bethany House was established in 1995 by Franklin Homes to provide long term residential accommodation for up to seven people who have a variety of mental health disorders. These disorders include schizophrenia, psychosis or paranoia, severe emotional issues, Asperger’s syndrome, acute anxiety and non-specific psychotic states.

Emphasis is placed on the provision of a warm, positive and caring but structured living environment, which is essentially optimistic in its outlook and in which clients are enabled to live harmoniously as members of the community.

Bethany House is situated in a quiet residential area next to Harrogate's Valley Gardens and the local shops, the town centre being only a few minutes away. With two exceptions, clients’ rooms all have en-suites.

Bethany Resident

Skilled and empathetic care staff are available at all times, to provide support and guidance and to enable each individual to develop his/her independent living skills to the full.

Clients are encouraged to learn essential interpersonal and self help skills and undertake a variety of work experiences or college courses with the aim of enabling them to lead more independent lives.

Of paramount importance are the stability, security and consistency of approach provided in the home for the maximum well-being of clients. A primary aim is the development of responsibility and exercise of choice in order to enhance the quality of life of individuals.
