I’ve not had an angry spell now for more than a year – Fairways has given me a lot of support and attention that I need when I get anxious and staff are always there to talk to.
I moved here more than six years ago after having been in care since I was 14. It’s important for me to be near my family and to have the freedom to do things on my own.
The staff have given me one-to-one care and I now can go out to do my shopping and go the bank on my own. Also, when I go for lunch I order it myself and look after my own money.
One of my passions is swimming – when I moved here I started going to Aqua Fit classes where I exercise to music in the water. I also really enjoy our weekly art class as well as going into town shopping where the staff help me choose suitable clothes.
My long term goal is to live independently and hopefully one day to get a job – although I understand I need to continue working on my behaviour and controlling my temper.
I like it here a lot.
