Quality care in mental health & learning disabilities

Franklin Homes

Structured Care

June Dixon - care officer

I relished the challenge of moving to Fairways to support people with learning disabilities.

Taking day-to-day responsibility for providing a routine and structure for our service users is a crucial part of what I do to make them feel comfortable and relaxed.

We offer constant encouragement in a ‘homely’ and friendly atmosphere, which is reflected in the progress of those we support.

Franklin Homes’ commitment to training sees me currently preparing for my NVQ level 3 in Care.

I am proud to be part of such a dedicated team that regularly goes ‘above and beyond’ to attend functions and meetings outside of work time.

Katharine Courtney – care officer

After taking time out to have a family, I returned to my original career choice of helping children with special needs before joining the team at Fairways in 2005.

My key aim is to encourage our service users to develop and maintain their independence within our supportive and secure environment – and to praise their achievements.

We develop powerful and caring relationships with service users who become an intrinsic part of our lives.

Our ongoing training means we can constantly adapt to each person’s changing behaviours, maintaining a consistent level of expertise throughout the home.
